What are proxies?
Proxies are small, low-resolution versions of your media that axle automatically creates and plays through the web browser. When you play back a video or look at an image in the axle interface, you aren't seeing the original file from your storage, but the proxy that axle has made. This means you don't need to wait for loading, buffering, or put strain on your network while playing back video in axle.
The proxies are stored in a location you can choose, called proxy storage.
By default, axle proxies are 1 megabit per second H.264 files with an MPEG4 wrapper.
